Did you know that
"Dance Dance Revolution" is an official part of West Virginia gym classes? You may have heard an announcement about that a year ago.
One year later, I've got a progress report. It's in every middle school, it gets used in school dances and West Virginia gym teacher
Robrietta "Frisky" Lambert tells me at MTV News.com today it's the kids' favorite activity:
"I was worried about because I thought, 'Here goes another thing that the boys are not going to like.' By being video-oriented, they were pushing the girls, like, 'Here, I want my turn.' I was pleased."Researchers are also announcing that a 24-week study of overweight kids showed some definite health benefits. That's the part Konami's touting in a press release set to come out some time today. But I don't quote press releases when I can avoid it. I quote "Frisky":
"I would stand beside them and call out, 'Left, right, front, back,' " she said. "After a month, they were really progressing and there was no way I could talk fast enough to keep up with the arrows."
More from her and researchers touting the "DDR" fitness study at the link above.
