I'm sure he's played it, but if he hasn't, he HAS to play Eternal Darkness for the GameCube. Many of his suggestions actually appeared in that game.

  Anyway, the actual point of my comment is this. I tried to contact N'Gai but couldn't find an email, so I hope you'll pass this information along. When he started talking about ways Manhunt could play with a person's mind, I immediately thought of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem for the Gamecube. I'm pretty sure he never played it, or else he would have mentioned it in the article. Eternal Darkness was an exceptional game developed for Silicon Knights. It got great reviews but was not commercially successful. It's easily one of my favorite games. I believe both of you would find it very interesting if you could manage to get your hands on a copy. I recommend it wholeheartedly, but especially to N'Gai in light of his comments about Manhunt.

     The rules of my and N'Gai's exchange is that I can't reply to his letter. We closed it down at the Final Round. But rest assured, had there been a fourth exchange he would have rightly castigated for his eternal ignorance of "Eternal Darkness."
     
     I, on the other hand, beat it twice. Never did have the patience to beat it a third time -- which is supposed to unlock some extra explain-everything cutscenes -- but I enjoyed what I played. I thought that insanity stuff worked well in that game. But I wouldn't have wanted to see it in "Manhunt 2." (whoops -- guess I just broke the rules)
